Assistant General Manager – Finance

A finance professional with excellent communication skills and analytical skills along with good interpersonal skills and a positive, confident personality with experience in financial planning and budgeting, developing internal financial controls, financial reporting, cash flow management, reporting and taxation. Experience in the security financial services industry with an excellent understanding of the domain is a must.

Job Role

  • Responsible for managing and implementing, finance and related strategies that wills support the organization in achieving its objectives.
  • Manage the budget planning process and coordinating and preparation of annual budget in consultation with managers and peers.
  • Monitor budgets against agreed business plans for the organization and liaise to ensure that appropriate actions are taken to ensure effective budget management.
  • Ensure compliance with Accounting standards for both financial and management accounts as reviewed from time to time.
  • To be responsible for tax planning and the submission of periodic returns.
  • Oversee the preparation of annual accounts and be responsible for managing the year end accounting process with the external auditors and for preparing them for the statutory purposes.
  • Manage the delivery of financial monitoring reports, production of monthly management accounts, and financial year end accounts.
  • To be responsible for the day-to-day management and control of the Finance Department and its related functions, ensuring these are delivered to the highest standards.

  • Ability to work confidently with tact and discretion.

The ideal candidate should have following qualifications and attributes:

  • A member of Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka
  • A bachelor’s degree specialized in Finance, Management, Accountancy, Economics from a recognized university.
  • Should be below 50 years.
  • Should have completed minimum of 10 years of finance experience in finance industry of which at least 4 years of experience at Senior Management level.
  • IT literacy specially in the areas of Ms Office and Ms Project.
  • Personal attributes such as high level of creativity, analytical skills, leadership skills, communication skills, negotiation skills, planning and organizing skills, conceptual skills with strategic orientation etc.
