Trainee Accounts Officer

This position is based at the Documentation Centre of the Finance Department which is located outside the Port of Colombo. Documentation Centre operates from Monday to Sunday and is closed only on other Holidays. The position will directly report to the Manager of the Documentation Centre. The work pattern includes work on Saturdays, Occasional work on Sundays and reporting to work on-call if required.

The Role:
Is involved with check relevant documents provided by the consignee and making sure all other approvals are obtained and all payment procedures have been completed prior to issuing the delivery advice. Cash and cheque collections, Banking and reconciling of bills daily. Record keeping and accurate management reporting.

The selected candidates will receive an on-the-job training before replacement.

The Person:

• Qualifications, Experience and other Attributes:
• School leavers with 3 passes in G.C.E. A/L with a preference for a finance / logistics career.
• Working knowledge in English language and good communication skills. Proficiency in MS Office and other IT applications. Well organized, systematic and high level of integrity. Good scheduling and follow up skills. Ability to work under pressure. Quick learning ability. Be a dynamic team player.
