Customer Care Manager

Required Skills:
Although the work varies, depending on the type and size of the employing organisation, typical activities are likely to include some or all of the following:

  • Provide help and advice to customers using the organisation's products or services
  • Communicate courteously with customers by telephone, email, letter and face to face
  • Investigate and solve customer problems, which may be complex or long-standing, that has been passed on by the customer service assistants
  • Handle customer complaints or other incidents, such as a security issue or a customer being taken ill
  • Keep an accurate record of discussions / correspondence with customers
  • Analyse statistics or other data to determine the level of customer service provided by the organisation
  • Produce written information to customers, often involving use of computer packages / software
  • Ability to write reports, analysing the customer service provided by the organisation
  • Develop feedback or complaints procedures for customer to use
  • Improve customer service procedures, policies and standards for your organisation or department
  • Meet with other managers to discuss possible improvements to customer service
  • Be involved in staff recruitment and appraisals
  • Train staff to deliver high standard of customer service
  • Lead and supervise, the customer service team
  • Learn about the organisation's products / services and keep up to date with changes
  • Keeping ahead of developments in customer service by reading relevant journals, going for meetings and attending courses

Work Experience:
5 years of customer care experience with at least 2 years of management and training
