Tea Smallholder Factories PLC is a subsidiary of John Keells Holdings PLC and is listed under Food & Beverage sector in the Colombo Stock Exchange. The principal activity of the company is manufacturing and sales of black tea with tea factories in the districts of Glalle, Matara, Ratnapura and Nuwara Eliya.

A vacancy exists for the role of Accountant, reporting to the company's Finance Manager, in an environment which encourages new ideas and initiatives, and provides excellent performance-based career development opportunities.

Accountant

Job Role:

• Assisting the Finance Manager in preparing the financial statements and related reports, finalizing interim financial statements and annual reports, establishing and maintaining internal control procedures, cash flow management, finalizing annual plans and re-forecast, and investment appraisals
• Making periodic factory visits and liaising with Factory Managers
• Providing financial inputs to the Management Committee on operational decisions
• Liaising with external and internal auditors
• Managing relationships with banks and statutory authorities

The ideal candidate should:

• Possess a minimum of 2-3 years' accounting / audit experience in a similar position
• Be a Passed Finalist / Member in ICASL / CIMA / ACCA
• Possess a sound knowledge on accounting standards, control procedures and taxation
• Be computer literate
• Be a good team player with excellent interpersonal skills
