Manager - Finance

The ideal candidate is responsible for efficient functioning of the financial operations whilst ensuring adherence to statutory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure timely preparation of Financial Accounts such as monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements & review same to ensure the accuracy of data presented.
  • Assist the Head of Finance in publishing quarterly and annual financial statements within the stipulated time frames
  • Prepare consolidated financial statements for statutory reporting
  • Carryout required statutory audits with External Auditors to comply with Statutory Audit Standards
  • Introduce Internal Controls & Compliance by implementing internal control mechanisms in order to mitigate risk of the department
  • Be responsible for financial accounting, monitoring and reporting system
  • Set GL controls and monitor same in an appropriate manner
  • Maintain external relationships with relevant parties such as auditors, statutory organisations (CBSL, Inland Revenue etc)
  • Arrange all supplier payments on time and approve payments

Experience / Qualifications and Key Attributes:

  • Degree in Accounting or Professional Qualification in Accountancy (ACA/CIMA/ACCA)
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in Finance preferably in a Bank or a Financial Institution, out of which minimum 1 year experience in the same capacity
  • Excellent knowledge in financial reporting, Accounting standards together with hands on experience in Auditing
  • Analytical skills & very good working knowledge of MS Excel, PowerPoint & MS Access
