The following position awaits you:
Director Of Finance
While reporting directly to the General Manager you will be responsible for:
- Leading the Finance Department and associated departments such as IT, Purchasing, Stores and Cost Controls.
- Preparing the annual hotel operational budget and reforecasts.
- Providing month end closing, P & L and all other required management reports accurately, in a timely manner
- Full and accurate forecasting and budgeting proposals, financial forecasting and reporting for the hotel operation.
- Prepare capital reviews as required by the General Manager and/or by the Corporate Finance Team of ONYX Hospitality Group.
- Complying with ONYX Hospitality Group finance policies and procedures across the area, to maximise performance and efficiency.
- Developing and implementing financial control procedures and systems; maintaining documents for audits of hotel accounts, ensuring compliance with government regulations, statutes, state and local laws.
- Preparing financial analysis of hotel operations including variance explanation and making recommendations to ensure the achievement of business goals as per budgets.
- Ensuring the balance sheets are a fair reflection of the assets and liabilities of the hotel
- Leading monthly finance update meetings with General Manager and Heads of Departments
- Reviewing regularly the balance sheets, ensuring reconciliations are performed of
- all cluster hotels controlled accounts and explaining all balances even if reconciled elsewhere.
- Assist Heads of the Department to improve their financial awareness and provide them with relevant financial information for the efficient operation of the respective departments
- Effectively contributing towards all CSR initiatives of the hotel
While experience in Hotel Accounting is mandatory, the successful candidate also has:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent.
- Experience as an Assistant Director of Finance or Financial Controller or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.
- Over 5 years experience in hotel accounting.
- In-depth knowledge and exposure to the most modern financial operating systems in the hospitality industry.
- Up to date knowledge on all government legislations and statutory requirements relating to finance and business management.
- A strong commercial acumen, with an exceptional ability to analyse and interpret financial data.
- Experience in managing budgets, revenue proposals and forecasting results.
- Strong leadership skills to effectively manage and motivate the team to achieve high levels of performance.
- The ability to put in long hours while handling complex situations under pressure
- Strong communication skills with an excellent command of English both written and spoken.
