Assistant Manager - Internal Audit

Job Profile:

• Conduct departmental, branch and other business units audits of to ascertain the adherence to laid down procedures, assessment of adequacy of internal controls and mitigation of the perceived risk
• Draft audit comments with implications and recommendations for corrective action and qualitative improvements
• Carryout support work such as the review of reports and assigned strategic checks systematically and adequately and release comments within the agreed deadlines
• Conduct / be involved in internal investigations assigned
• Ensure that operational controls and risk mitigants are adequate in new products and procedures introduced from time to time by the business units
• Have the ability to review procedure manuals and ensure that all relevant risks have been identified and check the availability of suitable cost effective mitigants
• Be seen as ambassador of IAD ensuring that the auditee is given adequate guidance in all matters to the unit

Prerequisites:

• Five years experience in a Bank / Financial Institution / Audit Firm
• A full/part qualification in ACA
• Previous experience in an internal or external audit would be a distinct advantage
• Analytical skills to evaluate procedures and highlight risks / suggest suitable and practical mitigants
• Excellent communication and report writing skills, with the ability to detail findings in a methodical and logical manner
• Ability to complete in all respects the assigned tasks with minimum supervision and within the stipulated timeframe
• Overall knowledge in General Banking
