Construction Manager - Interiors

Galle Face Hotel has commenced a major restoration program to return Sri Lanka's most iconic property to the position of Sri Lanka's premier deluxe hotel to coincide with its 150th anniversary in 2014. Work is already underway restoring rooms & suites, banqueting and meeting rooms, restaur ants & bars to the highest standard while retaining authentically to location and history.
  
The Galle Face Hotel is looking for bright, talented individuals to join the hotel as:

Construction Manager - Interiors

• Review contractors construction schedule, track progress, and flag delays
• Monitor contractors material delivery and adequacy of resources at site
• Manage Hand-Over Take-Over process between interior and MEP contractors
• Review contractors work methodologies
• Coordinate submission of samples and approval by designer
• Check tools and instruments used by contractors
• Manage Material Inspections and Work Inspections as per work schedule in coordination with construction managers
• Conduct QC inspections of materials and workmanship
• Issue and manage rectification of Non Conformances
• Manage de-snagging and hand-over to operator

Experience:

• 12-15 years, including similar experience managing interior works for hotel or high-end residential project, preferably as Owner Representative or Project Manager

Education & Skills required:

• BE/BTech or Diploma (Civil, Architecture, or Interior Design)
• Very good technical knowledge of interior works: materials, works sequencing, workmanship
• Ability to review drawings and resolve technical issues at site
• Good understanding of MEP works and their coordination with interiors
• Able to schedule interior works, and their coordination with civil and MEP works (MS Project knowledge is a plus)
• Good leadership skills, ability to lead a team
• Proficient in MS Word and ability to read/use AutoCad drawings
• Good interpersonal and English communication skills (written & spoken)
• Ability to prepare Minutes of Meeting
