Accountant

We are currently looking for an Accountant to join our Finance team, who will relish the opportunity to work in a growing team with significant possibilities to progress within the firm.

Position Responsibilities:

• Core responsibility for the financial & management accounting function of the entity and its associates entities
• Preparation of consolidated financial statements of the entity and its associate entities
• Timely submission of MIS reports to management
• Ensure the maintenance of proper books of accounts and preparation of General Ledger reconciliations
• Preparation of annual budget & forecasts
• Provide timely financial information and strategic input related to all financial transactions of the company with analysis on performance of business units
• Administration of Tax related matters (VAT, ESC, WHT, NBT etc)
• Liaise with auditors & regulatory bodies

Position Requirements:

• Passed Finalist / Intermediate qualification in CIMA / ACCA / ICASL or Degree in Accountancy or Financial Business Management
• Hands on experience in preparation of consolidated financial statements & annual reports with a minimum of 3 years' experience preferably in the mercantile sector
• Thorough knowledge of local accounting standards / IFRS / other regulatory aspects of taxation
• Experience with computerised accounting packages, preferably Quick Books will be an added advantage
• Excellent analytical skills, interpersonal skills & communication skills
• Ability to meet strict deadlines & work under minimum supervision
