Manager - Business Development

You will be responsible for improving hospital's market position and achieving financial growth while building and maintaining strong relations with Medical Consultants, doctors and facilitating them while promoting the services of the Hospital. Manager - Business Development defines long-term organisational strategic goals, builds key customer relationships, identifies business opportunities, negotiates and closes business deals and maintains extensive knowledge of current market conditions.

You will work with the internal specialist teams, marketing, and other managers to increase business opportunities and thereby achieve hospital's business objectives. You also will manage existing consultant and patient mix and ensure they stay satisfied and positive.

Key duties and responsibilities:

  • Create and sustain the right mix of specialist doctors in line with the goals of the hospital and attract selected specialist doctors to practice in the hospital.
  • Arrange educational/clinical sessions for medical Consultants and doctors with the assistance of Medical Professional Bodies.
  • Work across all Centres for Excellence of the hospital in achieving their business objectives
  • To implement and develop a marketing strategy to help drive significant increases in quality, customer services and market share for the hospital
  • Work closely with Advertising &Branding Manager, PR & Social Media Manager, hospital Marketing team and department heads in execution of their Marketing Campaigns.
  • Carry out ad hoc projects as required by the ChiefMarketing Officer and other hospital stakeholders.

Ideal candidate should:

  • Possess a Degree in Marketing/ Business administration/ MBA and or Qualifications in CIM/SLIM
  • Have five or more years' experience in a senior position in similar Marketing in Health Care industry
  • Have a strong personal relationship with Medical consultants of all specialties
  • Have a strong client management skills and ability to keep promises
  • Be capable of hands on problem-solving, with ability to generate ideas and solutions
  • Have a positive and determined approach to researching and analysing new business opportunities
  • Have the ability to use own initiative and pay close attention to detail
  • Have strong communication skills in all forms including written, oral, email, telephone, and presentation
  • Possess excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Have a positive attitude to dealing with people
  • Be capable of working independently, and having responsibility as an individual
  • Have a sound understanding of the Sri Lankan and Regional hospital marketing sector would be a distinct advantage
  • Be preferably be between the age group of 30 – 40 years
