Category Specialist - Automotive

Principal Responsibilities:

• Complete ownership and accountability to drive the product category
• Complete Responsibility of monthly / quarterly / annual revenue targets of the category
• Manage existing merchants and suppliers whilst continuously expanding and updating catalogue
• Expand supplier base by bringing in new and fast-moving products to the portfolio
• Identify best-selling and slow moving products and developing mechanism to capitalise on meeting sales targets
• Develop product specific strategies for products within the category to increase sales
• Proactively anticipate and place orders in line with market trends and demand cycles
• Implement category plans including promotions, price and range reviews
• Work with the marketing team to create compelling promotions and online and offline

Person Specification:

• In depth knowledge of the products within the category and an intimate knowledge of the market and customer trends associated within the category is a must
• Should possess 3 years of Sales & Marketing experience with a demonstratable track record of the target achievement in the relevant field
• Must possess and extensive base of client contacts from the industries related to the category
• Should possess excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills
• Should be target-oriented and self-motivated
• Possess the capacity for creative thinking and creative campaign execution
• A recognised qualification in marketing is desirable
