Senior Manager - Enterprise Software

Job Role

The Senior Manager - Enterprise will be reporting to Chief Information Officer / Head of IT and responsible for all the System Development and Customization activities of the Bank. He is in charge of the Core Baking Systems, Electronic Banking Systems, Data Warehouse & MIS Team within ISD and provides the technical and administrative leadership to all systems development / procurement / customizations projects undertaken.

Key Duties & Responsibilities of the Job:

  • Project Structuring - ensuring that all systems development projects undertaken are structured to guarantee maximum efficiency and cost benefit to the bank
  • Systems Development Methodology - ensure that the Enterprise Software follows Team standards for all development projects undertaken
  • Resourcing - ensures that the projects undertaken are adequately resourced with personal and equipment
  • Project Management / Coordination - Monitoring projects regularly with the Project Coordinators / Asst. Managers and all stakeholders of on-going IT Projects
  • Training - ensuring the staff assigned to specific projects are adequately trained on the development tools adopted and / or operating system
  • System Study - Carrying out the initial Problem Definitions, Feasibility Studies and requirement Definitions of new projects to be undertaken, in close liaison with users i.e. Head of Departments, Managers etc
  • System Design - supervising the System Design and the Detailed System Specifications and submitting the documents / making a formal presentation to the relevant users including Head of IT
  • Coding - ensuring that a consistent and structured approach is maintained by the Software Engineering during the coding of programs
  • Testing - ensuring that the programs are adequately tested to meet the requirements set out on the Detailed Systems Specifications as well as user requirement specifications
  • Documentation - ensure that system documentation and user manuals are made available for all systems developed, including the continuous updating of these documents reflecting and enhancements to the systems
  • SRF/SRN/JAF - ensure that all Systems Enhancements Requests, Job Initiates and Software Faults are scheduled in an organized manner and the progress discussed at the ISD progress meeting.
  • Version Control & Software Backups - Make sure Software / libraries are being updated properly and all the developed systems are being backed up regularly. Once copy should be kept in a safe place outside the division
  • System Reviews - Carrying out regular Reviews at selected installation together with the Manager (Computer Operations) and Manger (Systems Implementations) to get the feedback of the Systems
  • Staff Reviews - Conduct staff performance review according to the regulation set by Personnel Department and make recommendation of staff current progress
  • Staff Management - Attend day to day Staff Related matters
  • Progress Review - Prepare development schedule, monitor development activities and prepare progress reports to submit ISD Management
  • Information Systems Strategy - Prepare and established procedures, standards, and policies in line with Bank's IT strategies.

Academic / Professional Qualifications

  • A Bachelors Degree in Information Technology from a recognized university or an equivalent professional IT with Masters is preferred

Work Experience:

  • 5 years of Senior Tec Business related experience will be a distinctive advantage
  • The prospective candidate must have the ability to handle the total software development life cycle environment is desired

Skills and Capabilities:

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to understand business requirements
  • Ability to multi-task, strong attention to details, excellent problem solving and follow-up skills
  • Must be able to work independently in a project based environment
  • Ability to complete high quality deliverables and to provide extraordinary service
