(CMHI), a blue chip Company listed in the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, and the Sri Lanka Ports Authority (SLPA). A 2.4 million TEU capacity terminal in the Port of Colombo with a strong vision of becoming simply the best deep-water terminal in South Asia.

Accounts Officer

This position is based at the Documentation Centre of the Finance Department which is located outside the Port of Colombo. Documentation Centre operates from MOnday to Sunday and is closed on the other Holidays. The position will directly report to the Manager of the Documentation Centre. The work pattern includes work on Saturdays, Occasional work on Sunday and reporting to work on-call if required.

The Role
Is involved with checking relevant documents provided by the consignee and making sure all other approvals are obtained and all payment procedures have been completed prior to issuing the delivery advice. Cash and cheque collections, Banking and reconciling of bills daily. Record keeping and accurate management reporting.

The selected candidates will receive an on-the-job training before placement.

The Person - Qualifications, Experience and other Attributes:

• School leavers with 3 passes in G.C.E. A/L commerce stream
• A recognized accounting related full or part qualification will be an added advantage
• Working knowledge in English language and good communication skills. Proficiency in MSOffice and other IT applications. Well organized, systematic and high level or integrity. Good scheduling and follow up skills. Ability to work under pressure. Quick learning ability. Be a dynamic team player.
