Senior Manager - Human Resources

The purpose of the job role:
The incumbent will be responsible for providing an effective and efficient human resources generalist function that is aligned with departmental and company strategic goals. The incumbent will be expected to successfully implement HR strategy and deliver customer service within the organisation. The responsibilities will include inter alia strategic partnership and organisation design, recruitment and selection, salary and benefits management, diversity management, skills development, policies and procedures, HR reporting, HR projects managing staff.

The Job:

  • Identify, design, develop and implement HR programmes, policies and projects in conjunction with other members of the HR team / business units
  • Deliver a high level of proactive and reactive support, services and advice to the line managers and staff in all aspects of HR functions
  • Develop effective, collaborative relationships and networking with all internal customers and external stakeholders
  • Coordinate Human Resources practices and objectives that will provide an employee-oriented, high performance culture that emphasises empowerment, quality, productivity and standards & goal attainment
  • Contribute towards the development of HR systems and process relating to HR functions
  • To review the staff performance on a regular basis and to provide direction on personal development needs in coordination with the line management
  • To promote the corporate values and right culture of the organisation through the development and implementation of relevant polices and procedures and appropriate initiatives
  • To support the business partnering model as direct by your Line Manager
  • To contribute towards the achievement of Human Resources Management Plan Controls assurance standards and the Human Resources Strategy
  • To maintain an effective employee relationships and morale amongst staff across the Bank through effective feedback, recognition, appraises and development

The Person:

  • Minimum of 12 years' experience in Human Resources Management of which at least 3 years should be at a Senior Managerial level preferably in a financial sector
  • Degree in Human Resources Management / Relevant professional qualification or Degree form a recognised university and an MBA from a recognised university would be a benefit advantage
  • Strong communication skills, empathy, listening skills coupled with coordinate / organise and team building skills
  • Contemporary knowledge on relevant industry standards and HR best practice trends
  • Ability to work independently, with a high degree of responsibility. Work well under pressure and to deadlines
  • Age below 50 years

Selected candidate will be placed in the appropriate grade and remuneration scale based on the level of knowledge and experience.
