Accountant

The selected candidate will play a key role in the finance team and will be responsible of preparation of monthly financial statements as per LKAS and SLFRS including quarterly and annual Financial reporting aspects. He/She has to be process oriented and is responsible of establishing and ensuring that sound financial and internal controls aspects are implemented throughout the entire business process.

Requir ements:

• A member / passed finalist of ICASL, ACCA
• A Bachelor's degree from a recognised university in the fields of Accounting and Finance would be an added advantage
• A minimum 5 to 6 years of working experience in both audit and mercantile sectors
• A minimum 2 years' experience in a similar capacity
• At least 2 to 3 years' prior experience working with reputed ERP systems such as SAP, JDE etc
• In-depth knowledge of MS Office
• Strong knowledge of Sri Lanka Accounting Standards (LKAS) and Sri Lanka Financial Reporting Standards (SLFRS)
• Knowledge of Sri Lanka Tax Law and other applicable financial regulations
• Knowledge of accounting, financing, budgeting, and cost control principles including generally accepted accounting principles
• Prior experience in implementing and monitoring sound internal control systems
• Payable / Receivable Management
• Sound analytical skills
• Self-motivated team player, willing to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines & has the ability to function independently with minimum supervision
• A very good command of English language - both written and verbal
• Strong sense of initiative and desire for accountability & the ability to work well with people at all levels of the organisation and develop / nurture external relationships
